MVA IN THE BOROUGH

 

June 4th - Engine Rescue 19 and Ambulance 19A were dispatched for a single vehicle MVA on West Hanover Street in the borough at 21:09.The EQ and ambulance arrived within minutes to find a pickup truck into a Electric pole with hazards, and the occupant out of the vehicle.The ambulance secured a refusal on the patient and the crew of the EQ mitigated hazards and returned the box to service at 21:45.

 

 

 


NEW DUTY VEHICLE PLACED INTO SERVICE

 

June 3rd - The new duty ride was placed in service today. It will replace the 1998 Ford Crown Vic, which has served us for the past several years.

 

 

 


ANOTHER GRANITE STATION ROAD MVA

 

May 26th - Multiple units were dispatched to a 2 vehicle MVA, reported head on at Granite Station, at 16:54 hours. Chief 19 (Poland) arrived and confirmed dispatch, and held the box to Engine Rescue 19 and the 2 BLS units for 1 transport and 4 patient refusals.13A transported 1 patient, class 2 to Hanover, and the crew from 1A handled the refusals. Ambulance 19A was on an emergency transport to John Hopkins at the time of the incident. The crew from Engine Rescue 19 handled fluid control and mitigated all hazards before the Chief placed the box available at 17:32 hours.

 

 

 

 


HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

 

May 17th - Once again, while the Chief was working, some of the members found time to help destroy his house with a banner announcing his 51st birthday...............Notice how they tried to place the blame on the 33 house.........Nice effort guys!!

 

 


MVA AT GRANITE STATION & TALL OAKS ROAD

 

May 15th - Units were disptached to a minor vehicle accident at 07:04 today, with Deputy Chief 19 (Herr) arriving and holding it to 1 Engine and 1 Ambulance for a minor injury. Units cleared at 07:27.

 


ROPE TRAINING

 

May 9th - Members practiced our rope skills with the assistance of Instructor Rick Hartle today at the station. Thanks to Rick for the refresher, it was greatly appreciated.

 

   

 


BOX 19-2-30 FOR THE AUTO FIRE

 

May 9th - Units were alerted to Colonial Ridge in Mt Pleasant Twp for a vehicle fire, reported working, at 20:08, with the Engine Tanker and a crew of 6 arriving at 20:11, just behind the Chief and Deputy. Chief 19 (Poland) arrived to find a well off vehicle fire with exposures. The Chief had the ET stretch 2 lines to the SUV and protect the exposed car while making a hit on the burning vehicle.  The crew made a quick knock and contained hazards, while the crew from E13 and E22-2 arrived to assist. Units on scene included ET19, 19A, E13, and E22-22.  Chief 19 placed the box available at 20:39.

 

   

 


POSSIBLE HOUSE FIRE ON YORK ROAD

 

May 9th - Units were dispatched to 1981 York Road for a possible structure fire at 14:17. E1-1 arrived to find light smoke conditions and Assistant Chief 1 assumed command. The Engine Tanker arrived to supply E1-1 and send our manpower to the front of the home. After a search of the property, it was found to be a furnace malfunction and the Engine Tanker returned at 14:36. Units on scene included E1-1, TK1, ET19, E13, ET14 and ambulance 1A.

 

 

 


POSSIBLE STRUCTURE IN THE BOROUGH

 

Apr 30th - Pre alert was sounded at 21:23 for a structure fire in the Borough at 3 B Bonniefield Circle. Deputy Chief 19 ( Herr) had the Engine Tanker with a crew of 6 lay in from Johnathon Drive to the address. After a 360 by the Deputy, it was determined to be a good intent call, and DC Herr placed the box available at 21:37.

 


MUTUAL AID TO NEW OXFORD

 

Apr 25th - At 19:36 the Brush Truck with a crew of 3 responded to assist New Oxford Fire Department on a possible brush fire in the 4100 blk of York Road. All units were placed available by Command 13 at 19:47.

 


ANOTHER MVA ON HANOVER ROAD

 

Apr 23rd - Units were dispatched to a multi vehicle accident on the Hanover Road at 16:04. Chief 19 ( Poland) arrived to find a minor 3 car MVA with no injuries. Chief held the box to Ambulance 19A  for sign offs, and Engine Rescue for hazard control. Box was placed available at 16:21.
