Structure box in the Township
25 Harvest Drive
February 26, 2010
The box was dropped at 07:50 hours for a possible structure fire, reported to be in the chimney, at 25 Harvest Drive, in Mount Pleasant Township. Having just returned from a wires down call in the Borough, the crew was still at the station and the Engine Tanker and Ambulance responded within 1 minute. Chief 19 (Poland) arrived ahead of the Engine Tanker and reported a 2 story home with normal conditions. The homeowner advised that she had burned some paper in the woodstove earlier and was concerned that her chimney fire had extended into her 2nd story. The Chief had the crew from the ET lay in from the hydrant and ladder the house. The interior crew removed the debris from the woodstove, clear the 2nd floor with the TIC, and cleaned the firebox. Upon examination of the chimney, no fire was found and the box went available at 08:37 hours. Units on scene included ET19, 19A, Truck 1, ET29, and Rescue 33. Photos courtesy of 911 Photography.
