Barn Fire in the Township

January 29, 2010

Structure box was alerted at 17:18 hours for a Payloader on fire in a structure. Chief 19 (Poland) marked on the air and advised County 911 of a large thermal column from 2 miles out and requested Truck 1 on the box. Upon arrival the Chief found 1 machinery/feed building involved with a 2nd livestock barn off. 5 additional tankers were added to the box due to water issues and the proximity of 2 other buildings. Multiple units worked the call with the last units returning at 22:48 hours. Hanover Hospital, and Biglerville Fire Department supplied heated trailers for rehab, along with the crews of 19A and 33A. Buchannan Valley Engine 27 covered our first due for us during the duration of the call.

Another Successful Shrimp and Chicken Dinner

Once again we held one of our famous Shrimp and Chicken dinners to a full house. Many thanks to all those who came out to volunteer their time to prepare and serve the dinner, and to all who helped support the Bonneauville Fire Department by attending. Many thanks to all.

Vehicle into the stream in the Township

January 22, 2010

Units were dispatched at 21:37 hours for a single vehicle off the roadway on its side in a stream. Deputy Chief 19 (Herr) arrived within 2 minutes followed by Chief 19 (Poland) to find an unoccupied vehicle over a culvert. Confirming that the vehicle was in fact unoccupied for some time, the box was placed available at 21:52 hours. Units on scene included Engine Rescue 19 and Ambulance 19A. PSP was on scene and will continue to investigate.

2100 block of Hanover Road

January 22, 2010

Bonneauville and Gettysburg units were dispatched at 20:38 hours for an AFA at the Groft-Spangler farm, part of the National Park Service in East Cavalry Field. Chief 19 (Poland) marked on the air and was told by County 911 that the tenant called and reported a false trip. The Chief was in the area, and stopped at the location to confirm the false trip and placed the box available. Units dispatched included Engine Tanker 19, Engine 1-1 and Ambulance 19A. The box was available at 20:42 hours.

Straban Township, US Route 15, Southbound

January 16, 2010

06;56 hours. Units were dispatched to a tractor trailer fire, reported well involved with the tractor detached from the load, on US Route 15 Southbound, at the Route 116 exit ramp. Engine-Tanker 19 arrived 2nd in and supplied Engine 1-1, and sent its manpower to the attack team under the direction of Gettysburg Fire Department Lt. Folster. The crew made the initial hit and then applied foam to the burning trailer and cargo, placing the box available within 1 hour. Gettysburg Fire Department Deputy Chief Shank had the command.

Bonneauville Fire Department assisted Littlestown Fire Department and multiple other Departments on a structure fire at 01:04 hours. The crew of the Engine Rescue was assigned to the manpower pool and assisted with ventilation, returning to service at 01:51 hours.

Smoke in the structure, Gettysburg Borough

January 3, 2010

Gettysburg and Bonneauville Fire Departments were dispatched at 13:05 hours to a commercial building with smoke in the structure. The Engine Tanker was assigned to the rear of the structure and the crew laddered side B and assisted with ventilation and assisted Side C interior operations. The Engine Tanker returned to service at 14:15 hours.

Bonneauville and United units were dispatched for a vehicle accident at 21:12 hours reported involving multiple units. Deputy Chief 19 arrived to find a single vehicle accident with no injuries and held the box to Company 19 units for a sign off and fluid control. Units returned at 21:34 hours.
