KITCHEN FIRE ON LOW DUTCH ROAD

 

June 6th -A pre alert was sounded at 19:39 for a structure box at 1114 Low Dutch Road in Mt Pleasant Twp. bringing units from Bonneauville, Gettysburg, New Oxford, and SAVES. Chief 19 (Poland) arrived to find a small working fire in the kitchen of the single family home. The Chief used water from the kitchen sink to keep the fire in check until crews arrived. Gettysburg Engine 1-1 with 6 arrived first and brought 2 handlines into the home. The crew from ET19 with 6 arrived and assisted with ventilation and used the TIC to check for any extension after crews knocked the fire down. Chief 19 held the box to ET19 and E1-1, all else in service. The fire resulted from a grease fire that spread to the toaster oven and up the wall. Units cleared the scene at 20:15 hours.

 

Units dispatched included ET19, EQ19, 19A, E1-1, TR13, E13,and T29.
